HELSINKI, Finland (AP) - Leaders of the European Union, Russia, Norway and Iceland pledged closer co-operation Friday in protecting the environment in the vulnerable northern region stretching from Greenland through northern Europe to Russia.

WASHINGTON: The Supreme Court is expected to hear arguments this week to decide whether the government must change its posture on greenhouse gas emissions. A group of 12 states led by California wants the court to issue a mandate requiring all US auto makers to ensure minimum tailpipe exhaust emissions from new vehicles.

NASA envisions a structure at one of the lunar poles which would be powered by solar generators. Funding for the project is expected to come from resources redirected from the International Space Station.
